TUGENDHAT „9“

Hand-Blown Czech Crystal Glass, Cut, Polished, and Silvered / Stone Artworks/Sculptures

On May 15, 2023, an exhibition of nine unique glass objects inspired by the architecture and energy of Villa Tugendhat took place. The exceptional event was titled „9“. The inspiration for this name was derived from these facts: Tugendhat contains 9 letters, Černá Pole – 9 letters, Město Brno – 9 letters, the house number of the villa – 45 – 4+5 = 9, and also the fact that the sum of the numbers of my birth date equals 9.

About 70 VIPs attended the event – the elite of Czech business and leading Czech art collectors. It was a wonderful social evening, a combination of significant architectural heritage from the genius architect Mies Van der Rohe and my art, which has enriched significant art collections.

One piece made from Czech crystal, inspired by the cut of a chromed silver pillar from the villa’s interior, was donated to the city collections at the request of the director, Ing. Arch. Černá, and the leadership of the Brno City Museum. I highly appreciate the support of everyone involved in this extraordinarily important one-day exhibition.
