UNIQUE HAND-BLOWN LIGHT BLUE CZECH CRYSTAL GLASS
IN A PRESTIGIOUS PRIVATE COLLECTION IN NEW YORK CITY, MANHATTAN, NEAR CENTRAL PARK
I designed this glass object as a unique piece inspired by the endless expanse of glass panes in Manhattan skyscrapers, which reflect the blue sky. Unique light blue glass was melted specifically for this work. Sealed within the piece is the name itself, EYE OF THE NEW YORK, a tribute to a city that is deeply beloved and inspiring to me, New York. Two ground surfaces symbolize the name NEW YORK, and five ground and polished lenses sum up to the lucky number 7, the number of letters in the city's name. The work functions as a concave mirror, creating an infinite and repeating reflection of the exceptional urban architecture of the high-rises and overlooks the entire New York. It is my homage to the city and to human invention.
